When to book your GR20 ?
The question comes back every season: how many weeks in advance should you book the huts? Rather than repeating hearsay, Vigie GR20 measures. At every reading (roughly every fifteen minutes), we archive the state of every night of every hut — so we can observe exactly when a night flips to “fully booked” for good.
What our readings measure
For each hut and each month, here is the median delay between a night's last flip to “fully booked” (hut beds) and the night itself. Reading: “14 d” means half the observed nights were definitively full at least two weeks before the date.

Figures measured on hut beds (the most constrained type). The longer the history, the more robust these medians become.
Method
We record the state published by the official pnr-resa.corsica platform for every night of the season. For each (hut, type, night) we keep the last transition to “fully booked” — the one after which no spot ever reappeared — then compute the delay in days between that flip and the night itself. The displayed value is the median per hut and month, less sensitive to outliers than an average. A cell only appears after several observed nights; no figure is ever extrapolated.
Honest caveat: our history begins on 19 July 2026. Nights already fully booked at that date are excluded from the calculation — their flip cannot be dated. The table therefore stays partial in the first weeks and fills in over the season, never extrapolating anything.
General lessons (beyond our measurements)
Independently of our figures, a few rules are consensus among GR20 hikers:
- Booking is mandatory to sleep in the Park's huts (bed, rental tent or bivouac), and only on pnr-resa.corsica.
- July and August go first, often as soon as bookings open in spring. June and September leave more room.
- Some huts are known bottlenecks : Manganu, Tighjettu or Ciottulu di i Mori, on stages with no fallback option, fill up before their neighbours. A single fully booked hut can block an entire route.
- Bivouac spots open up more often than beds — and cancellations happen all season long: that is precisely what is detected by our radar.
- Flexibility is worth weeks of lead time : shifting your departure by two or three days often changes everything — try the season scanner.
And if your slot is already full: create an alert — you will be notified the moment a spot opens up.
